Prepare a strong, well-understood Theory of Change and Logical Framework that talk to each other and your stakeholders.
There are loads of resources available that describe methods and processes ad nauseum for developing a Theory of Change (ToC) and logical framework (aka log frame, logic model). Some might even say this subject has been belabored. I might agree. A quick google search will show you plenty of explanations from reputable sources, all with a little bit of their own spin. So I skipped the deep dive on the theory behind the theory of change and logframe and made shareable templates and a quick guide.
Get to the doing faster: templates linked below.
I want to leave you with something a little more straightforward and immediately useful, so I’m linking here to my ToC process and log frame templates to get anyone started who’s at this step and wants to bypass the lectures from 30-page PDFs on methods, how-to’s, importance of, etc. etc. and HERE’S THE PDF DOWNLOAD.
These templates largely focus on doing these things well and with some straightforward guiding and prompts, with some key comments on the why and underlying principles. But, again, the main goal is to help get the meat of these two tasks done well.
I am not at all implying that the underlying principles aren’t important; to the contrary! I’m just acknowledging that they have been beaten to death with words and explanations, which I’ve cut down on and summarized since all of these principles are widely available online already, and the last thing we need when starting this work is more eye glaze, boredom, and mental fatigue.
Download and use as you like, and if you have any questions let me know!
