Impact Through Learning, Evaluation, and Implementation
MEL and IMM
I guide organizations working on both traditional donor-funded projects and those providing blended, patient, and catalytic capital investments measure meaningful outcomes and impact. I help clients understand the what, how and why behind changes due to projects, investments, and interventions. We look at what’s working and what can be improved at every stage of the project.
This ranges from establishing and measuring baselines, undertaking QI for a project’s early stages, checking-in mid-project or continuously, to conducting endline evaluations. I focus on data-based learnings and making sure the findings are clearly communicated for your team and stakeholders.
I consider individual project needs and measure what’s meaningful and sustainable against project theories of change and frame outcomes to convey traditional and holistic/longer-term ROI.
Project highlight: Evaluating the impact and sustainability of CBO-managed WASH interventions across 7 disadvantaged US communities using a semi-unrestricted funding model
Implementation
I work with a range of organizations on technical assistance, operations and operational assessments, and getting projects off the ground in a sound, evidence-based manner in health and environment-related projects. This includes where the two intersect and their complementary areas like climate impacts and WASH.
My applied background means I have a knack for taking data and evidence and turning that into action steps and programming ready to make an impact (all while considering budgets, sustainability, and operational constraints.)
Project highlight: Providing TA to community-based organizations to stand-up effective and cost-conscious WASH interventions in low-income and resource-constrained communities.
Research and Learning
Good data is at the heart of everything I do. I provide a range of data and analytics services to organizations, including donor-funded projects and impact investing projects focused on blended, patient and catalytic capital.
Having a strong background in data management, collection methods, and statistical methods allows me to support clients with collecting primary and original data, using secondary data, or conducting research.
I also support capital providers with aspects of their due diligence (within technical, environmental, and regulatory areas) to assess risks and propose mitigation strategies. This also includes market research for trends, beneficiary behaviors and needs, and looking at ROI in ways that consider social and community indicators that are often slower to change.
Project highlight: Assessing factors associated with gaps in tuberculosis infection care among refugee populations in order to adapt patient intake process and management for improved treatment adherence and completion.
Capacity Development
I support teams to be more proficient and have a better understanding of the work we’re doing together through workshops, one on one guidance, and group trainings. It gives you more confidence in the processes, data components, and technical or subject-matter aspects of the project, which ultimately helps you with everything from effectively communicating to stakeholders to better implementation and planning for continuation.
This is all about empowering you and your teams to take action over the lifespan of your project with better outcomes and greater community impact. The principle of bringing others up with you is something I feel strongly about, which is why I offer capacity development to all my clients.
Project highlight: Monitoring and evaluation for beginners training series, where we focus on monitoring and measurement principles and putting them into practice with easy to use tools and readily available software.
